the cape kitchen, newhaven

It’s very hard to tell what is more phenomenal here - the food or that VIEW! Mamma is gonna call it a tie.
Undoubtedly, the views from this restaurant would have to be the most spectacular in Phillip Island. Large windows frame the dramatic Bass Strait coastline in every direction. Sip on a hot coffee (or icy wine!) as you watch the giant waves smash down on the rocky shore. What could be better?
Well, wait until you see the dessert menu and I think that question will be answered! In fact, the whole menu here is sensational, making choosing what to eat a very tough call.
Mamma highly recommends the creme brulee, although has slight food envy over not ordering the chocolate tart… but there’s always next time.
You make have a look at this place and think that it is too fancy for kids, but there’s even a kids menu with very generous servings (and dessert) and they provide colouring options to keep them busy; if the views are not distraction enough!

Once you have finished your meal, take a walk outside and get a closer look at that view. Keep an eye out for wallabies, too!

Mamma's special mention:
Keep the fun going and head up the road to check out the amazing Forrest Caves.
