Mamma and the crew know how important it can be to still get outside and get some fresh air even in these colder months. We would love you to rug up and explore Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria - both at Cranbourne and Melbourne - for some winter adventures. Not only are there the beautiful gardens, the playgrounds and dozens of trails to explore, but there will also be a buzz of excitement with school holiday activities happening at both of these stunning family friendly destinations.

CRANBOURNE GARDENS 

Kids Explorer (Special school holiday prices $10 Adult, $8 Concession, Children FREE) Sat 29 June – Sun 14 July, 10am – 4pm (25 mins)
During the school holidays, The Explorer mini-bus transforms into the Kids Explorer and children ride for free! Cruise through the Australian Garden and experience its wonders through sight, sound and smell on this special tour designed for a child’s view.

Welcome to Guling (Orchid Season) ($10 per child, adult free), Monday 1 July & Wednesday 3 July, 11am (2 hrs)
In this seasons Indigenous program, families are invited to explore the many changes in the plants growing in the Australian Garden and surrounding bushland during Guling (Orchid season). Discover the relationship between orchids and fungi and the importance of fungi in ecosystems during Guling.

Birds in the Australian Garden (FREE event, bookings essential), Tuesday 9 July at 10 am
Guided walk to meet some of our regular feathered friends while you explore the Garden. I wonder how many you can spy?

NAIDOC. Koolin-ik ba Kirrip-buluk (Family and Friends): Voice. Treaty. Truth. (FREE event) Wednesday 10 July, 10am – 2pm
Celebrate over 65,000 years of the Indigenous voice with a history of Treaty, live music, Indigenous plant naming, damper making, Indigenous games and mindfulness workshops, then warm up by the fire with a free BBQ.  

MELBOURNE GARDENS

Winter Nature Play in the Gardens (FREE event) Wednesday July 3, 11am – 2pm, drop in anytime.
Rug up your little ones and embrace winter with outdoor nature play. Set in the Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden, this nature-based sensory experience is designed for children of all ages.
