flinders pier, flinders

Mamma just adores Flinders. Its location, the old-style shops, the people - just everything!
One of the best things to do here is to take a walk down to Flinders Pier. There’s a car park right at the top, where you have amazing views of the bay, stretching right across to Phillip Island where you can see The Nobbies.
Descend the spiralling staircase, showcasing the most stunning scenery. There are not too many stairs, so little legs should manage quite well. Although the journey back up can be a little tiresome if you’re not that fit! Luckily there are a few benches to rest on along the way.

Once you get to the bottom you are rewarded with the spectacular jetty and access to a sprawling stretch of sand.
The pier may be the longest one Mamma has seen! On most days you will find dozens of people fishing patiently waiting for a catch. If you’re lucky, you may even find Harry’s Mussel boat docked near the steps so you can buy some fresh dinner!
Such a beautiful way to spend the day.

Mamma's special mention:
You can’t complete a trip to Flinders without stopping in at the delicious Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie.
