mushroom reef marine sanctuary, flinders

Mamma loves a great outdoor adventure - especially one that is surrounded by spectacular scenery!

Mushroom Reef Sanctuary is the perfect spot to go on a rock pooling adventure and just take in the sheer magnificence of the Mornington Peninsula. With views of cliffs on one side - and as far out to The Nobbies on the other side, this mushroom shaped reef insures you’re surrounded by beauty.

The kids will love uncovering different shaped stones, finding shells of all sorts of colours washed up on the shore, and spotting hundreds of little crabs amongst the rocks.
The rocks are fairly small and stable, so perfect for those little feet. Just make sure to wear shoes - as it can be a bit rough on bare feet!

Also - check the tide times, as at high tide, the majority of the reef gets fully immersed.

Mammas special mention: There’s so much to see in Flinders! Head to the Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie, or Flinders Blowhole or check out our Top Picks of Red Hill and Surrounds.
